Things To Do At The Park
There are many things you can do while visiting Centennial Waterfront Park. The park is located next door to Canyon Springs Golf Course, one of the 3 golf courses located in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Mogensen Trail, is a beautiful hiking trail located just before Centennial Waterfront Park. Simply park in the turn out, on the right side of the road, right before the park’s gate. While on the trail, you may walk past small waterfalls, along boards, and through beautiful greenery.
Launch a boat, kayak or SUP. Boat below the Perrine Bridge and you may see B.A.S.E. jumpers as they parachute from the bridge high above. Launch your kayak or SUP and paddle up to the famous Shoshone Falls. Note: along the route, you’ll need to pull your kayak out of the water, carry it for a short distance and then place your kayak back in the river to continue up stream to Shoshone Falls. (Severe safety warning: please do not kayak near or too close to the extremely powerful Shoshone Falls. Stay a safe distance away! Know what you are doing before you go.) P.S. I understand that during the summer, you may find wild blackberries to sample.
Boat launching is free at Centennial Waterfront Park.
Summer – Schedule a zipline ride, rent a kayak or SUP from a local shop, play at the park, fish from the docks or your boat, maybe try fishing for crawfish or enjoy a picnic at the park. This is a great park for summer activities!
Winter – During the wintertime, come checkout the icicles of spring waters flowing from the canyon wall along the road and around the waterfall. The waterfall is usually flowing at a trickle during the winter months.
Anytime – You may see locals walking the steep canyon road for their daily exercise. So, if you’re here on a trip and feel like you’re missing out on your daily cardio, give it this road a try! It’s a great, strenuous walk with a view.
Perrine Coulee Falls
I love waterfalls and one of my all-time favorites is right here in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Perrine Coulee Falls gives visitors the unique opportunity to experience, “The backside of water,” as they stand behind the falling cascade of this waterfall. Visit our short story, “The backside of water,” and how it relates to the Perrine Coulee Falls.
