Perrine Coulee Falls is one of the most unique waterfalls in Idaho! It tumbles year round from the top of the Snake River canyon rim.

Distance from Twin Falls Cottages – 4.2 Miles.

As a child, I went to Disneyland. I loved the Jungle Cruise ride. One special memory happened on that ride and it had to do with a waterfall. We had been at Disneyland all day. It was now getting late. Before leaving the park, I asked my parents if we could go on the Jungle Cruise ride, one last time. The line was super short, so we ran right through and boarded the boat. It was late and the “tour guide” seemed to be a little extra humorous compared to earlier in the day, maybe even slap happy. He told each corny joke with such vigor and energy. As we approached the waterfall, of course, he pretended that our boat would run into the falling water as he quickly turned the boat to avoid it. Then, as we came to the part where we would go behind the waterfall he announced with such fanfare that we would have the unique opportunity to see, “The backside of water!” The boat full of people jeered with laughter.

Fast forward, to today… many, many years later… So, why may Perrine Coulee Falls be one of my favorite waterfalls? Maybe that Jungle Cruise, “tour guide,” should receive some of the credit. As he might say, Perrine Coulee Falls gives visitors the unique opportunity to experience, “The backside of water,” as they stand behind the falling cascade of the waterfall.

Just Down The Road…

When you are snapping pictures of the waterfall, turn around to see an excellent view of the Perrine Bridge. Travel just a little farther down the canyon road to Morgensen Trail for hiking, Centennial Waterfront Park for summer activities and Canyon Springs Golf Course, a local public golf course.
