Idaho’s world famous Balanced Rock is one of our most unique local rock formations. See this over 48 feet tall and 40 ton rock as it balances precariously on a “neck” of only 3 feet by 17 inches wide! This wind carved monument shows the power of nature.
Pack a picnic lunch, see the unique rock formation and then enjoy the rest of your day relaxing along the stream in the nearby Balanced Rock County Park. Bring a kayak, go fishing, hike Salmon Falls Creek Canyon or stay a little while longer and pitch a tent or bring your RV (up to 37’).
Camping is free on this BLM land. No reservations and on a first come, first served basis. No RV hookups. If tent camping, please note that sprinklers water the grassy area Monday night through Thursday night.
